Acerby, Spinatia, and "Girl Kits"

blue and grey humanoid robot model kit Acerby sits on the edge of a dark desk

Hi! I build Gundam model kits, though until a few months ago, I'd taken a break from those. Upon my return, I discovered Bandai has multiple other lines of kits, with the "30 Minute" designation, including 30 Minute Missions (an original mecha line), 30 Minute Fantasy (original fantasy), and 30 Minute Sisters (Cute/Combat Girls).

Other companies also make what are commonly called "girl kits" or "mecha musume" as well, but my experiences so far are with Bandai's 30MM line. There are also some masculine silhouettes among certain lines. Quite a few Girl Kits border on NSFW so please view with discretion.

(Note: I have no affiliation with the shop I've linked to aside from positive experiences with purchases. They just tend to have a lot of product photos available.)

Among the 30 Minute Missions line, the Acerby and Spinatia types have distinctly feminine silhouettes, the Acerby more so. While the line's lore encompasses a few paragraphs, it's implied that the Acerby models don't have cockpits. Read into that as you will. ^_^;

Do the 30 Minute kits really only take 30 minutes to build? No, not really. Someone with a lot of experience could probably do it but even a fairly simple kit like Acerby took me a couple hours.

Tools required are nippers and a knife/sanding stick. Markers/paint/etc can do more but they're not required. Everything pops together, no glue necessary. (Some other Girl Kits may need more tools and work, but the Bandai lines are pretty easy to build and have clear multi-language instructions.)
