The new standard models Volks has released in the past few years have really caught my interest. I would love to have the boy, Dai, the girl, Mako, and the newer girls Hina and Nico (SD).
If I could buy a new doll today, it would definitely be the Byakuren. I admire the Kyotenshi Shiratori and Byakuren. Shiratori used to be a dream doll for me; however, now I like Byakuren as much.
My latest doll purchase was a pair of wig caps. I bought them from a seller from within the U.S., so I hope they arrive with no problem. I went to put a new wig on Jude and discovered he had no wig cap. I bought a few wig caps several years ago when I only had a few dolls, so I figured it was time for more.
I have been looking at several Volks FCS outfits from a seller in Russia. If I had the funds, I would definitely get some for Jude and whatever other Volks MSD boys I buy in future.
My next doll will probably be a Volks MSD FCS fixer-upper, since those are the ones that usually call to me most strongly. One of my favorite things about receiving Jude was cleaning and restringing him and, in the process, learning what parts the initial buyer had chosen for him by looking up the part numbers online.
I wonder who his first owner was, and whether he received an omukae ceremony at Volks. I wonder what outfit he came in (full list here)? His nameplate is missing, so I can only narrow down his date of production from 2005-2009.
I love the older anime-style MSD and SD FCS dolls. I think my favorite at the moment is the MSD F-12 sculpt.
